The PDW-700 has been designed for applications such as news,  TV drama, documentary and mainstream entertainment programs that required a high quality look.

You can choose to shoot your project in almost any format that exists -  HD, or, even Standard Definition...from DV to higher than beta quality 50mbps (no downconversion necessary if acquired in SD format).

Because the video is shot on a disk, a file is created for each particular scene.

It is then extremely easy to access those files on a menu in the camera to view  or send to a laptop, where a “proxy”, or low resolution file can be downloaded  and used for viewing/logging.  Please see  http://lwp.com/LWP/What_are_Proxies.html  for some great detail on proxies.  The original is still in pristine,  high resolution format for you to use for your edit.  You then simply insert the disk into an XD playback unit for access during editing.  Your original disk costs less than a betaSP tape!  There are many more features, so please contact us and we’ll be happy to answer any questions.
